Seeking Volunteers to Serve on the Downtown Development Authority
Application must be submitted before the close of business Friday, January 9, 2026
Want to make a lasting impact in Downtown Jasper? The City is calling for applicants to join the Downtown Development Authority (DDA).
To be eligible, applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements as outlined by state law:
• Be a taxpayer residing and owning property within Jasper's municipal limits.
• Own or operate a business in Jasper's Central Business District while also residing in Pickens County.
• Meet a combination of the qualifications listed above.
Ideal candidates should be committed to attending monthly meetings, participating in training sessions, and engaging in DDA events. Applicants will be asked to share their background, qualifications, and vision for downtown Jasper.
After the city ensures applications meet required qualifications, Mayor Kirk D. Raffield will review them and make a recommendation to the City Council, which will then hold a public vote to appoint a new member.
